But will the 2012 Mini run the next couple releases of macOS beyond Catalina?
If you think its time to upgrade to a newer Mac Mini, I would just go for a current model, but that's just me.
On the other hand, if your old Mini is doing what you want it to, why buy another one at all?
Again, these are really personal decisions based on budget, what you need to do with the Mini, and if you plan to keep it for another 7 or 8 years.
