He needs to 'rip' his CDs and he needs an A/D converter and software to 'rip' his albums. That's on top of needing "instructions" on how to build a PC (and load an OS on it) and he needs 'some kind of digital storage device'.
If he's starting from scratch on knowledge he faces a pretty big learning curve. I mean no offense but the OP might be well served with a store-bought PC ready to boot. Or (gasp!) an all-in-one turnkey appliance with everything built-in.
Again, based on his post I wonder if he has any computing background at all. I'm not sure but it sounds like it. Again, I'm not trying to be nasty about it. Maybe he's a quick study.
