Hardwired Ethernet is best for the RPi but others achieve OK results over Wifi with an external USB Wifi adapter dongle. The RPi has its own internal Wifi but most find it to be weak. If you're close to your Wifi router it may still work OK - but again, hardwired Ethernet is the way to go if you can.
