As far as ordering software for the Digione, you really can't go wrong on the order, as you can change the software at any time, just by downloading it yourself from the Websites of the OS.... I usually keep a couple extra Micro SD cards around with different Operating Systems, in case I want to try something else. So, you might want to try out DietPi, as that is what Abe uses and he will be a good resource for Roon. Myself I use PiCorePlayer which runs LMS.As far as comparisons with the MicoRendu, there have been a few people on this forum that have 'tweaked' both' and said that they are very close. If you search this forum, you can probably find those discussions. I have not tried the Rendu, as I am satisfied with the Digione, and I don't relish dropping $500 on the Rendu for a 'Test'.
