Except your music files aren't in one place

The Aurender N100 has an SSD cache that's big enough to cache an entire playlist of songs. And it can fill that cache over a 1GE network almost as fast as from a local hard drive. So I don't see any performance advantage in having a local copy of the music library in the device as with the X100 or W20. But I do see a potential performance disadvantage due to the hard drives spinning up to load the cache.

Also, I don't want to have to manage multiple copies of my music library. Which is why I have one library on a NAS supporting many playback devices. According to the Aurender docs, if I point its media manager to my music library on the NAS (or any SMB share) and pair it with an Aurender, the songs stay on the NAS. If I really wanted a copy on the internal HDD of the X100 or W20, it looks like I would have to manually put it there. No way would I want to manually keep multiple copies of my music library in sync. So I just don't see the point of putting HDDs into it at all.
