For the record, I once tried to provide objective feedback. My posts were deleted by Jim Hillegass and Chris Connacker. These guys know each other. Both from Minnesota. This is more about helping each other make money than anything else. Nothing wrong with making money, BUT when you have to delete the words of others it is WRONG. J.River's MC is an all-in-one very complex software that deserves praise. But, such complexity can get in the way of audiophile needs. As an example of 'complexity' they just recently added the ability to restrict library searches to whole words:"The search language supports putting a hat in front of a keyword to do word matching (so ^car matches "Car Blues" or "My Car Broke" but not "Carolina on My Mind")... Hat is an escaped character in the search language, so you must use /^ to search for a literal hat."
IMHO, a much better/simpler way to accomplish this is what is called 'out of band' switch. Just a box that says whole word or partial matches. That way you can search for the '^' character without all this in-band escape complexity.
Who cares? Well if you care about music quality you want software that is not so complex. JPlay tries to do that, and several others. When you are searching for dollars, and JRiver re-sells its same audience with each release, you don't have IMHO the time it takes to achieve the needed simple approach.

the best way to delete an idea, is to post one of your own
