The ZEROs have the ability to be used in configurations ranging from 1:1.3 to at least 1:5.8. The standard ratios are 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4.They would be useful for a 6AS7 amp with as little as 4 devices per chassis, and proably less. In the winter, I have my ZEROs configured to make my 8ohm speakers appear as a 12ohm load (1:1.5 or so) and in the summer, I cut the tube compliment in half and re-configure the ZEROs to 1:3.
This works perfectly, though I do miss half of the power in those months.. But the speakers are reasonably efficient, so I can still get good levels with the 35 or so remaining watts. Keep in mind that an M-60 on an *ideal* load, is capable of more like 70+ watts.
