Re: Bill is a former Atma-Sphere employee... kind of

Ok, a brief history of my work with Atma-Sphere.

Ralph and I met around 1995. Coincidentally, we happend to be in the same electronics store at the same time, both of us having ridden there on our Guzzi T-3 motorbikes. A conversation was struck up, and we became fast friends. At the time, I was working as a motorcycle mechanic, with a hobbiest's interest in vacuum tube electronics. Ralph had (and still has) a rabid interest in exotic motorbikes, and we had much to discuss.

I left the motorcycle trade, and was employed at Atma-Sphere in the mid-late 1990's, initially being hired to construct new equipment. Over the years, I built numerous M-60s, MP-1s, and a few other models. You can find my signature in many of these pieces. Eventually I was given the position of Operations Manager, and my duties expanded to include updates, upgrades, troubleshooting, sales, repair, parts ordering, managing employees and the day-to-day business of the company. Ralph an I collaborated on several projects, but the one of which I am most proud, is the original M-60 Mk.II.

About 1998, I needed a change of pace, left the company on good terms, and went to work in the telecommunications field. Of course, Ralph and I stayed in touch over the years.

Jump forward to 2003. I'd left my previous employer as my health problems were making 40+ hour work weeks too difficult, and had been doing upgrade/modification work for another local hi-end shop. Ralph and I were discussing my possible return when as luck had it, a spot opened up. Ralph was well aware of my health issues, and I knew I could count on him to accomodate my employment needs, with respect to my physical limitations.

I was hired back on in September of 2003, and have worked with Atma-Sphere to the present day. I was tasked primarily with quality control and final testing, but during this transition period I'm also handling a bulk of customer support. If you call Atma-Sphere and select Technical Support, you will more than likely speak to me.

With respect to the current transition: I would ask that you reserve your judgements until the dust has settled, probably a month or two. A number of changes are in process, and there are some very interesting things afoot. If all goes according to plan, I think you will all be more than pleasantly surprised at what we will have to offer our present and future customers.

I think that's all for now,
Bill
