OTL, Output Transformerless Amplifier User Group.

I just receintly bought a S-30, I have been using SET amps for the last several years and push/pull amps for 25+ years before that. If I may indulge this forum with a couple of questions that may seem very elementary. I was told that the 6AS7 tube is in fact out of production but the supply is huge. Should I buy a few back up sets or is this a non issue. With that thought in mind what is the life span on this tube? SET amp 300b, 845, 2A3 tubes can last up to 5/6 years (6/7,000 hours) and PP tubes like the EL34, 6550, KT88 have a normal life of 2 years (2,000 hours).
The Atma-Sphere owners manual does not seem very informative, is there other things that I should know or be aware of with this amp? Again I know these questions are probably pretty elementary to this forum but your input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.......Bob
