JBL & Altec Speaker companies were serious industrial companies that actual tested speaker systems in anechoic chambers at high power levels with wide band signal for long periods of endurance time....And the trend was in the 70's.... to conservative rate a product...So, you are correct to suspect that an JBL L200....Could survive several times power more than 100 Watt music signal...But...I'm just not sure why one would want to drive a speaker that efficient in to distortion level...Ear Pain...is this where the Prozac comes in???
