Mike, you're right to be cautious. I think the consensus is to be very careful deciding to put any contact enhancer on tube pins. Clean the pins?: Absolutely! Use a contact enhancer?: Maybe, but be careful. There are many stories over the years of folks applying a contact enhancer to tube pins and ending up with a gummy mess that is very difficult, if not impossible, to clean out of the tube sockets -- just as you correctly worry aboutThat being said, I am personally very confident recommending Lloyd Walker's SST for applying to tube pins. But it's the only contact enhancer I've found that I'd feel safe using on tube pins in my gear.
