Henry,Thanks again for recording your observations without bias and in useful detail.
I'm having a hard time digesting the concept of material behavior changes accelerating rather than diminishing with use time, unless the object under test is on the verge of failure. Going back to your initial impression, I wonder if both the audiophile cable types were giving you an unbalanced treble presentation, but that your focus on listening for differences led you to listen past the overall unbalance for a while.
