Al: The old cloth was black and looked shabby. I replaced it with a slightly glossy black fabric that looks great. I did disconnect and reconnect the wires, which had been in place for a long time – perhaps more than 10 years, but she had been listening for several weeks after I did that. Now we’ve listened both with and without the grill. She says "with" is better, I hear only a very subtle difference but prefer "without." Maybe that’s MY bias at work.
