If you want someone to tell you what you already must sense, OK, I will: The Apogees are a non-starter with the MA1, unless you interpose a pair of autoformers between the amps and the spkrs. Any of the other 3 spkrs you mention would work much better. I think Mark Gilmore uses the Carver Amazing spkrs and can speak authoritatively on the subject. Obviously, he's happy with his results.
