Glynn, Thanks for the response. I was told to compare the Placette(30 Day trial period) to other pre-amps. I'm also looking at the Joule LA-150 & the Hovland HP-100. I need to see if the extra $3000.00 is worth it. Let's talk about your "bass" problem. I've had numerous conversations with Guy at Placette. One conversation was about the loss of bass. It could be 2 things: Length of cable and the cable itself. Guy told me with the Passive pre-amp to make sure the cable runs were short(1m to 1.5m) also a low capacitance cable. Guy suggested Pure Note (www.purenote.com) also look at the cables from Synergistic Research. Hope this helps.
