I believe the very best MP-3, and MP-1, phono section tubes are the British Military CV4024s. Selecting samples with the best intersection matching, lowest microphonics and lowest noise, can make a very real difference.The line-stage does very well with a good 5814 or even better with a 7316, if you can find them. Just about any premium, domestic, 6SN7 does well in the output buffer. The output stage has no gain, so it's not so critical.
