I just hate it when this happens! Contact cleaner can actually make the problem worse by washing away whatever lubricant may be left inside the switch. When such a switch is made, usually a small amount of lubricant grease is placed inside. This lubricant can dry out, go away, get wished off into the cornfield by some naughty child, etc. If you position your amp so that the switch bats face up, you can spray in a small amount some lubricant that is electrically inert. WD-40 will work, but will soon evaporate. If there's any original lubricant left, sometimes the WD-40 will rejuvenate it a bit. LPS is a good, electrically inert lubricant that will stay put. I've had good luck with it when trying to free up just about anything mechanical on electronic chassis.
