As an experiment to see what the ZEROs would do for a solid state amplifier, I pulled my ES series SONY A/V receiver out of the theater room up into the audio room, hooked it up and put on Ani DeFranco's latest CD. The weirdest effect happened. The music seemed as if is was playing half speed. Everything was slow motion. After 3 songs I yelled up to my wife Judy and said, "the music sounds like it is playing real slow", and she instantly said "yes it does". The SONY was still cold, so it will be interesting to hear what it sounds like in a few hours.
I suppose this is what's described as "pace" by reviewers. With the cold SONY SS amp the pace of the music seemed much slower than with the A-S OTLs.
Has anybody else ever experienced this phenomenon? It was really weird, almost drug like.
