I have used to good effect such a ferroresonant conditioner made by Staco, i believe it is, w/ a rating of 2000KVA (I think). I used it with my old solid state Adcom,McCormack, EAD system. The beast weighs over 100 lbs if it weighs an ounce! and boy does it whine/ buzz! but it did blacken the background and generally enhanced all aspects of performance. I've only once tried it with my M-60MKII's and can't say one way or the other if it worked as well. My new listening space doesn't allow for a convenient location to hide the noise away. But now that the subject has been brought up I'll try hooking the "beast" back up again.Garland
