Hi,Conrad Johnson does not use electrolitic capacitors in their
power supplies, they find they are detriment to the sound
of their amplifiers. They use film capacitors, and as they
have lower capacitance than the electrolitics, have to use a PI filter power supply.
The only electrolitic capacitor in their amplifiers is
in the power supply of the tube filaments...Audio Research also has a trick to get rid of the so called
"electrolitic capacitor sound" in power suppiles - they have a small
choke in series with the capacitor and active line regulation.
