This is an OTL'ophile forum, so you can expect to see a very real preference for OTL amplification.IMHO, the MA-1 MK II is vastly superior to ANY SET amp I've hear so far and I have heard a good many at THE Show and CES. The MA-1 MK II has all of the sonic advantages, but none of the sonic disadvantages of SET amps. If you looking for superb timbral accuracy, that is so good you'll doubtless hear better, than the MA-1 MK II is for you. But, don't trust me. Go and listen to the Jota of the 805's. I've not heard the Jota, but I have heard the 805. The Cary isn't even in the same league as the MA-1 MK II.
