I've used a George Kay audio tube checker for many years. It doesn't check power tubes; but, it has an audio circut built into it, applies a 1 Kilocycle tone to the tube and measure db gain for each of the triodes. Additionaly, you can listen to the tube for microphonics, noise, and measure distortion. A nice play toy if you want to try MANY different tubes.
