How does YOUR MP-3 sound??????

How would your describe the sound of the MP-3?
The line stage of mine is utterly transparent and is well worth the price of admission especially driving AS amps. But the phono stage while sweet is somewhat rolled off, recessed and has nearly NO bass compared to any other phono stage I've used.
Any comments including tube suggestions are appreciated!!!!
