Along with the VTL TL5.5, one of the least expensive tubed preamps with both in-board MM/MC phono stage and true balanced input/output capability (transformer coupled in this case for world-class noise immunity and load compatibility). Note: this is NOT an 834 but, rather, combines the DeParavicini circuit from the wildly popular 834L linestage and 834P phonostage into one full-width chrome chassis, along with further power supply refinements and the balanced operation. Used in many studio applications the world over, DeParavicini's designs are a benchmark for reliability, simplicity and performance (this is NOT a generic cathode-follower topology dressed up in a pretty box). This example has been used for the last 6 months with a pair of Novacrons, which it matches aesthetically and musically to wonderful effect, and includes the original factory packing and owner's manual.
