I'm not familiar with your speakers. I wish I was.
Given the specifications you've provided, they
should be very friendly to OTL amplifiers.Knowing you come from solid state is very helpful.
That's where I came from too. I often tell
people that Atma-Sphere amplifiers sound more like
solid state, than tube amplifiers. This is about the
point where I get myself in a lot of trouble. What
I'm trying to say, at least to my ears, is that
the A/S amplifiers have the wide frequency response
and lack of colorations normally associated with
many tube designs. What A/S amplifiers do, which is
exceptional, is preserve the timbre of musical
instruments in a way I've heard very, very few
solid state amplifers do. In fact, I can't think of
any tubed amplifiers that have the ability to
expose such incredible detail and harmonic
accuracy. So, in my opinion, I believe A/S amplifiers exhibit
the best characteristics of both solid state and tube
amplifiers, with none of the drawbacks. They are
class A and do run hot, so do class A transistor
designs.I think it's high time you schedule a good listening
session, preferably with your own speakers in your
listening room. Given your favorite musical
selections, I believe you'll hear what I'm trying
so desperately to describe.mark
