I know this topic has been discussed several times, but I wanted to get current opinions. Sorry.In about 3 months, I'll be replacing the CD player in my 2-ch system w/ an SACD player. I'd like to spend under a $1000 USD. Used is OK. I'm looking for good RB and SACD performance. Balanced outputs would be nice, but they probably don't appear until you spend a lot more.
I figure I'll get more for my money if I avoid universal players, players w/ video circuitry, multi-channel players, and changers. I've heard bad things about the following machines:
Music Hall Maverick - noisy, long load time, anemic time display on face;
Sony SCD-1 - TOC error
Sony 777 - problems?A recent thread had good opinions of the Maverick. What's your current recommendation?
