Are you saying that they are designed to sound as good as they ever will when using a cheap amp and that they will never sound any better than ****, no matter what you do?
Plenty of experienced listeners have claimed that (if/when the HD-800s are amplified well and properly) the HD-800s can produce excellent sound. You are the first person to ever say that the ring radiators used in the HD-800 are an insurmountable barrier to good sound, AFAIK.
I really want to understand so, please, throw me another bone.
