K701s are headphones that really benefit from a good balanced drive amp. Not all headphones improve that much when driven balanced, but the K701's surely do. The widest of soundstages and the airiest of presentations (two fine traits the K701s are noted for) gets bolstered by deeper, more authoritative bass when you drive them balanced.
I have never heard a pair of Q701s balanced but I would be curious to know if they would improve as much as the K701s do...
