the lower end Stax are still great .... I have heard them all at headphone shows in Costa Mesa California

you dont need the high end models to get the Stax magic

the trick is to get a dedicated tube amp for them such as the Blue Hawaii

thats going to eat up most of your money - 5 grand - right there

the source I cant help you with as I like using old school cd players
