He just used it for the going to sleep problem. Have not asked him what pops up as other options. If you are looking for multi-region, some players, e.g. Linn, will be guided by the 1st piece of software in it (I was told this by a Linn employee asking questions about the Linn Movie Classik) so that if you put a Region zero disc in it to start with it will be configured for multi-region. As I noted have not tried it with my Samsung HD1000. I believe it goes to standby after 30 minutes (and its fan shuts off) and it does not bother me. I don't have anything except a few Region zero DVDs and I have not tried them in the player as yet.
