New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

I am puzzled by Panasonic's DVD-Audio 2.0 specification as well...

My guess is you will be able to play DVD-Audio discs in 96 kHz/24 bit quality in certain players and recorders.

I do not agree as to Panasonic's mini systems. If you can, give the new SC-DT310 system a listen. It is worlds apart from cheap SACD HTiB mass market gear (except maybe one system offered by Philips) and a stylish yet compact way to enjoy DVD Audio. Have a look at the speakers - and you see the difference.

Panasonic sold two systems of this kind last year - one with, one without DVD Audio. Customers who DID hear the difference (quite a few) did not mind paying a €100 more to enjoy DVD-Audio with three free discs included.

A replacement for the Technics player is not in sight. Panasonic has announced they will no longer offer high-end players.
