I'll pose the question to Denon Jeff on the AVS forum (already a thread in the DVD Hardware section on the DVD2900) and see what he says, but I wouldn't hold my breath. You can hold yours, if it makes you happy.

The only thing I don't like about HDCD is the 6dB crap. It's not like Denon will offer you the same access to disable this like Sonic Frontiers and Assemblage did with their products.

Instead of HDCD, I'd like to see Denon implement their AL24 processing for 16-bit PCM audio (I believe the DVD3810 has this) and maybe throw in upsampling of 44.1 to 192kHz.

Speaking of "wait", have you looked at the weight differences in the DVD2800, DVD2900 and DVD3800? It's 2.5 pounds each move up. Just seemed "funny" to me. HA HA! Yeah, whatever.
