Why does Beatles Anthology DVD sound better? Is it the Dolby?

New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

just listening to #5, incl. "Norwegian Wood" and "Taxman" etc. Sounds much nicer than the Anthology CD, to me. Totally different mix? Different takes? More warm bass, sounds like, but not just a simple frequency response thing, it sounds warmer.
Could the Dolby (theoretically with response to 20 bits and 48k if I recall correctly) be nicer than the Red Book PCM?
(Disclosure: OK, actually I'm listening to the LPCM digital output in both cases...but is the difference just that?)
