Running on Full . Part 2 : ... Tuesday , Warner released Jackson Browne - Running On Empty on DVD-Audio . ...

Running On Empty , a great Rock album , and Jackson Browne's most famous album , comes as a DVD-A and a CD in the same package . The DVD-A has 2 bonus tracks added to the original album .

I have played the DVD-A , and it is Multichannel 96/24 , and Stereo 192/24 .

Running On Empty features a thoroughly enjoyable discrete multichannel mix . For songs recorded live on stage , like " Running On Empty " , the band and vocals are up front , and the audience and some instrumentation are discretely placed in the rear channels . For songs recorded in hotel rooms , like " Cocaine " , the listener is placed in the middle of the room , and is surrounded by individual vocals and instruments placed in each of the 5 main channels .

Also included on the DVD-A are on-screen lyrics , as well as " Running On Empty " , and " Tour Photo Album " video montages , which consist of several hundred tour photos accompanied by music from the album .

While major labels , in 2005 , have almost completely stopped releasing Rock & Pop SACDs in the U.S. , it is great that last month Warner released the outstanding Talking Heads - DualDisc Brick ( 8 DualDiscs with DVD-A ) , and has now released the excellent Running On Empty DVD-A .
