I don't spend much time here so maybe I should search more thoroughly, but I have to ask how you're getting the multichannel DVD-A into your computer in the first place?As far as I understand, MLP encoded/encrypted DVD-A's still can't be ripped to a pc - are you only using non-encrypted source material? Are you recording the multichannel material via the 1820m analog ins?
I'm also using an Emu 1820m, but with Foobar and only for 2-channel at the moment (well, using multi-channel outs for crossovers, but only stereo source material). However, with the Talking Heads set out I'm very interested in adding multichannel capability. It would work to simply run the DVD player into the analog inputs on the 1820M, but as good as the ADC's are in the Emu, a full-digital approach would still be preferable (although the analog approach would work for SACD as well).
