It's 24/96 LPCM stereo. It's definitely high-resolution, and it will play on any DVD player. DVD-Audio capability is not required.
>>AC/DC "Back in Black" calls 24 bit 48 khz "high resolution"<<Actually, the AC/DC Dualdisc is 16/48, not 24/48. There's no difference in sound quality between the "CD" side and the DVD side.
