1. Chris, This is what Talking Heads website says:-"The eight individual DualDiscs in the upcoming Talking Heads 'Brick' boxset will be available separately in January 2006, at least in the US (first four at the beginning of the month, second four at the end of the month)."
-- so you can test one of the titles, if you wish.
2. Garnot's statement about the 2-ch tracks is not much of a basis to make any conclusion about the 2-ch quality of these discs.
p.s. It is very common for people who are so enamoured by a glorious 5.1 multichannel mix, that when they come to A-B compare with the dedicated vanilla stereo, the stereo version just sounds flat by comparison. That's not the fault in the stereo mixing, but rather the fact that it's stereo, and not the enveloping multichannel soundstage which they've just been immersed in barely a minute earlier.
