picture noise on DVD-A

Hi all,I've been using phono plugs to connect my Panasonic DVD-S49 player to connect video/audio out to my Sky reciever scart in via adapter (phono to scart).I'm now using a scart to scart lead to pipe it through.I go via the sky box so that when the DVD player is switched on,the system and telly switch to the DVD player. This is convinent for the missus, and I have no selector switch on the amp.
I'm getting picture noise when I play DVD-A disks.I use Wavelab 5.0 to burn disks,if I don't select a picture to be displayed(top menu),I don't get much noise.
To the question, how can I eliminate this noise?I've set PAL in wavelab, done the obvious. When I used the Phono connection(video composite out)the picture is noisy but not the sound.Even checked the video out setup in the setup menu.Hope the machine is ok.

Thanks as ever y'all.Happy Listening.Mikee55
