German discount chain to release budget-priced DVD-A player

Aldi, one of Germany's largest discount food retail chains, will offer a DVD-Audio player in their stores starting Nov. 22nd. The device, which offers support for numerous media formats, including DivX, Xvid, WMA, MPEG4, MP3 etc., will sell for EUR 69.99 (about 89 USD, including sales tax).

Especially interesting is the fact that the DVD-Audio compatibility is mentioned very prominently in the sales ads/leaflets.

You probably couldn't expect wonders from such a player, but it's definitely good to see mass-market products capable of DVD-Audio playback.
