New DVD-Audio authoring software

German software manufacturer Magix has recently introduced Version 8 of their Digital Audio Workstation software packages, Samplitude and Sequoia. All four versions support DVD-Audio creation from within the program, starting with the basic Samplitude V8 Master and Classic (Stereo only, list price US$299 and US$499), Samplitude V8 Pro (Surround, US$999 list) up to the top-of-the-line Sequoia system (with special editing features for classical music recording, US$2500).

The actual DVD-Audio functionality should be on about the same level as WaveLab's, i.e. no MLP support. But that remains to be seen, I have not yet had a chance to get more details. Anyway, it's great to see another popular audio software having DVD-Audio support added.

For those of us who live in the U.S., or more specifically, around S.F.: The software is currently presented at the AES convention in San Francisco (Oct 28th-31st).
