"why does Univeral Music music claim SACDs greatly outsell DVD-Audio's?"Do you have a link? Or is this from the article where a UMG spokesman states(get's quoted?) that the **number** of DVDA UMG **titles** is nothing to write home about?
It doesn't surprise me at all. Since sa-cd has settled in a niche market. The number of releases has risen sufficiently to a point where most format adopters are not capable of scooping up every title released anymore. This means that sales are leveling off.
Also note that after a couple of years the hires sections in store's hardly expanded and in some cases even disappeared. So less titles shipped to retail is now a serious indication that sales are stalling. This happened without DualDisc in the equasion.
