Clipping in the digital filter happended in some DF chips and it was a design flaw.It's true that the intermediate resulting amplitude in the filter stages can exceed 0dB.
However the final output from the DF cannot exceed 0dB.If you recall your digital sampling theory you will know that in principle you get the sampled wave back.
Chances are that the dsd sampling process smoothed over the clip so it isn't observable anymore.
In any case the sample clipped at a lower level than a previous sample. If the DF caused the problem then the first sample should have clipped too.
