Jim, I have not been able to find any specific information on this problem. I can tell you that I have experienced rumble problems with a large percentage of Vanguard LPs. Since there was no subway in Utah to blame, I think the best guess is that the rumble was created by the tape deck itself, especially given that the problem is not an intermittent one, but rather continuous. If you experience the problem with DVD-A that also rules out LP pressing problems. So the only other logical candidate is the tape machine.FYI, I have one of the SACDs (the V. Williams) and did not experience any rumble problems. This is a 2-channel only SACD, so there is no LFE channel.
