Want to move to hi rez, advice on player needed

New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

I'm planning to move to a hi rez system. But I don't know what to buy.
Is getting a "universal" player the right way to go? BTW, I really only listen to 2 channel and am not planning to go multi-channel.
I'd like to get a high value player and am willing to do simpler mods (caps, diodes, opamp changes).
