The discs you have are 24/96. The Denon DVD3800 will pass 24/96 over the digital connection. To do this, you can try two things: set the player to bitstream or LPCM. Either one or both of these settings will give you a 24/96 output. There may also be a menu setting for downsampling -- on/off -- (96kHz vs 48kHz). Set it to 96kHz and it will pass through the digital output.Your AVR2803 will accept a 24/96 input. Unfortunately, the D/A converters in the AVR2803 are inferior to the ones in the DVD3800. I would suggest that you use the analog outputs of the DVD player when you listen to music, but only if there is no A/D conversion on the input of the AVR2803 that you choose to use. If there is any A/D conversion and you can't get around it or turn it off, use the digital out on the DVD player to the digital input on the receiver.
