I guess my mind blanked that fact out, because I couldn't imagine why a "magazine" would ever publish an article purporting to be a review of a product by someone who's selling it.I think the term for that kind of work is "advertisement."
I actually enjoyed Jim Saxon's columns that he used to run in Soundstage; they were funny and entertaining.
