I read both magazines because they have different strengths. Frankly, I find the reviews in Stereophile to be more comprehensive than TAS. Sound of the reviews in TAS leave my wanting more information. I get more useful information such as set up tips and room size. I enjoy the roundtable discussions and HP's workshop in TAS. I don't mind the astronomical prices of the items reviewed in both magazines cause I'm not going to buy them. However, I am most interested in the trials and tribulations that the reviewer went through to make them sound their best. That's just the tweaker in me poking out. I miss Jonathan Scull's fine tunes and I miss the directness of Corey Greenberg ("that piece of equipment sucks"). Both nagazines have become too politically correct.
