None of us likes the ageing process. However, I always say to friends and acquaintances that I am glad that I lived through the vinyl era as the music really meant something and buying an LP was an event that would make the hairs on the back of your neck 'tingle'. There just doesn't seem to be much interesting new music. If there is then many of us (and I include myself) do not get to hear it or own it on our favourite media format.I have no gripe with Stereophile or print media but I cannot say that I read Stereophile in depth any given month. The cost of high end products nowadays is prohibitive in many cases. I didn't even bother to search in BB or CC for SACD or DVD-A and I doubt if they had any titles in stock. I agree with you that the current generation is losing out on what was and is a truly wonderful hobby.
