>1) my electrolytic capacitors are 200v not 250v(does this effect performance?)

So were mine. It shouldn't be a problem.

>2)each of the above has a black stripe and corresponding black dot on one terminal (the neg?) but no plus or minus markings

Black dot/narrow stripe = negative.

>3) this magnet wire is driving me nuts!! how do you strip this stuff in less than 15 minutes?(slight exaggeration)

What wattage is your iron? 30 to 40 W would be ideal. Give the iron time to get nice and hot before stripping. The trick (assuming you have a hot enough iron): melt solder where the iron meets the wire. Should burn off pretty quick. Give the iron time to heat up again before doing the next wire.

>4) the only 1Kohm resisors I have are bigger than my other resistors(1/2 watt as opposed to 1/4, right?). But their color pattern(brown, black, red, gold) is never referenced in the manual. I have assumed that these resistors are different than the 1Kohm resistors which used to ship with the kit, and consequently I have used them in place of the brown, black, black, brown, brown ones which the manual mentions.

I got the same 1Ks. Probably carbon comps. They shouldn't be a problem at all. When in doubt of value, measure with a VOM.

G'luck!!
