Since we are immediately switching to the new Bottlehead PT-1 power transformer in the Seduction kits we now have a surplus of the original Allied/Hammond 6K1VF power transformers we were using. Secondary ratings are 125V-0-125V @ 25mA and 6.3VAC @ 1A. 2-1/2" mounting centers. These would be a neat way to upgrade a Foreplay. The extra heater and B+ current capacity makes experimentation with a lot of other tubes a distinct possibility. One would only need to convert the original full wave bridge rectifier to a full wave rectifier and drill a new mounting hole for the larger channel frame for a fairly easy mod. DC heaters become a distinct possibility too. Of course you could do a lot of other more radical stuff too, split rail supplies for the cathode followers, added shunt regulators, etc.
These trannies list for about $12.60 plus shipping in the Allied catalog. We paid pretty close to that. We'll sell them at a loss, $10 plus shipping, to move them off the shelf to make room for the new trannies. Note: for $10 each I am not able to give instructions for any of the above mentioned mods. Please ask your fellow Bottleheads for installation and implementation ideas.
For those who will ask, these are not as quiet EM field-wise as the new PT-1 (you get what you pay for), but in the FP this should not be as much of an issue as it is in the higher gain Seduction.
